Discovering Hocking Hills (Day 0)

The trip began weeks before I ever set foot on the trails. It began with an idea to hike the entirety of Hocking Hills State Park and the surrounding areas of the region.

I had to pack and evaluate what was truly essential when living out of my car for three days straight, as I wanted to save money on lodging and be as self-sufficient as possible.

This was not my first camping trip and so I was no stranger to the setup, however this provided more layers for colder mornings and enough for several days.

Packing up all the clothes into compression stuff sacks, folding and rolling to save space where I can.

A 7-gallon water jug that stays in the vehicle as the reserve when smaller water bottles are empty.

I took a trip to Great Miami Outfitters in Centerville, Ohio to stock up on food. However my budget was thrown out the metaphorical window upon seeing new gear to add to the trip such as quick-dry pack towels.

All of this was to prepare for a journey that would really invigorate my photography and fancy my love for the outdoors. The particular location was one that many hikers and photographer adored as being picturesque and overall stunning.

With the fairy lights installed to the car interior, everything else was on track for hitting the open road!

Nothing was gonna stop me now.
